Born from a Passion
for Real Pizza
Pizza factory was born on the corner of Wayne Ave and Johnson Street in 2009, when founder Marco DiAngelo decided Dayton deserved a true pizza factory experience — not a franchise, not a chain, but a living, breathing workshop where every pie is a craft project.
Marco grew up watching his grandmother hand-stretch dough in a tiny Naples kitchen. He carried that memory to Ohio and turned it into a mission: bold flavors, honest ingredients, and a kitchen open for everyone to see. Every pizza at the pizzafactory is made the same way — by hand, from scratch, with care.

Over 15 years later, the original fire still burns. We've expanded our menu, grown our team, and served more than 20,000 customers — but the philosophy stays the same: make every pizza like it's the only one that matters today.

Founder & Head ChefMarco brought his grandmother's Naples dough recipe to Dayton in 2009. He oversees every recipe, every standard, and every oven temperature at Pizza factory.

The First Oven Lights Up
Marco opens the doors of Pizza factory at 1101 Wayne Avenue with one wood-fired oven, five recipes, and a dream to bring authentic handcrafted pizza to Dayton, Ohio.
Best Pizza in Dayton Award
Three years in, Dayton City Magazine recognizes Pizza factory as the city's best independent pizzeria. The recognition brings new customers — and a second oven to keep up with demand.
Expanded Menu & Delivery Launch
We expand from 12 pizzas to over 40 menu items including calzones, pasta, wings, and our signature garlic rolls. Delivery service launches across the Wayne Avenue corridor and beyond.
10,000 Customers Milestone
Pizza factory celebrates serving its 10,000th unique customer with a community block party on Wayne Ave — free slices, live music, and a whole lot of love from the neighborhood we call home.
Full Kitchen Renovation
We invest in a full state-of-the-art kitchen upgrade — new Italian stone-deck ovens, expanded prep stations, and a purpose-built dough fermentation room to take our craft to the next level.
